  • Students completing this curriculum will be certified to the American Chemical Society.
  • At least 40 of the total hours required for the bachelor’s degree in this program must be in upper-division courses.
  • Students must have two years of high school foreign language (the same language) or accommodate one year of university language study into their schedule.
  • UCORE Courses can be take in any order at any point in the curriculum. This is just one possible sequence

1 Highly motivated students are encouraged to take Chem  116 in place of Chem  106. Students who have taken Chem 101 must take Chem 105 and 106, or 102 and 106.

4 Electives must include at least 3 hours of advanced chemistry courses based on physical (Chem 332) or organic (Chem 345) chemistry. All 500-level chemistry courses also meet this requirement. Up to 3 hours of 300-level Math or Physics may be used with permission. Chem 499 and Chem 495 may not be used to meet this requirement.
